Synopsis – Goodreads

From # 1 New York Times bestselling author Lauren Kate comes an enemies-to-lovers romance about an editor, her bestselling author, and one life-changing secret.

What she doesn’t know about love could fill a book.

With a successful career as a romance editor, and an engagement to a man who checks off all ninety-nine boxes on her carefully curated list, Lanie’s more than good. She’s killing it. Then she’s given the opportunity of a lifetime: to work with world-renowned author and her biggest inspiration in love and life—the Noa Callaway. All Lanie has to do is cure Noa’s writer’s block and she’ll get the promotion she’s always dreamed of. Simple, right?

But there’s a reason no one has ever seen or spoken to the mysterious Noa Calloway. And that reason will rock Lanie’s world. It will call into question everything she thought she knew. When she finally tosses her ninety-nine expectations to the wind, Lanie may just discover that love By Any Other Name can still be as sweet.

My Review

This book will be on my favorites list for a long time. I absolutely adored this story of enemies-to-lovers. I’d almost consider this friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers. This story was great to read, and watching the characters’ growth was a fun experience.

If books about working in publishing as an editor of a romance author interest you, then this release is perfect for you. I’ve been on a kick lately of reading books about books, and I’m not mad about it.

By Any Other Name follows the love story of Lanie as she realizes what she is looking for in love isn’t what she expected. As we see her character grow and learn more about those around her, we see her realization of what she wanted out of life and her relationships adjust. It felt natural and reminded me of many people I’ve met realizing the path they were going down wasn’t the one for them.

Aside from that, her all-time favorite romance author is now under her, and she’s responsible for ensuring she gets her manuscript in on time. She’s being given the chance of a lifetime of being an editor, and if the manuscript isn’t in on time, she can kiss her dream of being an editor goodbye.

However, secrets have a way of making themselves known, and Lanie is in deeper than she thought. The way that her love story and work-life intermingle will have you smiling and so happy. A bonus overseas trip rounded this story out and had me dreaming of warmer weather as it was snowing here.

The writing is beautiful, and this novel was hard to put down. Five stars all the way!
