When I considered writing this post, it was initially titled “August to October Book Recap”. However, that would have left out the two books I read in total between June and July. To be fair, I got married in May then was sick from July to August. Then, I had a significant amount of downtime in August compared to the beginning of the summer, which you’ll be able to see clearly in the table below.
I love collecting simple data that give me totals or averages of what I’ve read. I think it’s interesting to compare different time periods as well. If you enjoy data-driven information, you may like Story Graph. If you haven’t heard of it, check it out! It gathers the genres you read, page numbers, and so much more data than Goodreads. It’s rather simplistic in the design and isn’t owned by a major corporation, whereas Goodreads is owned by Amazon. I personally like both platforms for their own individual reasons, but the data below is simple enough for me at this moment.
In total, I read nine books and one novella from June 22nd to October 31st.

I will be posting my reviews for each of the above books soon. My review for The Love Hypothesis can be read HERE.
If I had to choose an overall favorite book out of these options, I’d choose The Four Winds. It was my first Kristin Hannah book and had me hooked so quickly. I can’t wait to share my review with you all soon.
I don’t know if I’d be able to choose a second favorite. The genres range from Historical Fiction to Romance to Mystery and Fantasy. I loved each book for its own reasons. However, reading these stories did cause me to purchase more from Kristin Hannah and Jennifer Lynn Barnes, download Colleen Hoover books on my Kindle, and pre-order/set reminders for upcoming Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood novels.
Out of all these books, you may recognize most of the authors. However, there may be one you’re less familiar with and that’s Allie Giancarlo. She’s an indie writer on Kindle and you can find her stuff on Kindle Unlimited. I love reading her stories because she’s right up there with the authors listed above. She captures the reader quickly and keeps them entertained throughout the story. She has three novels in addition to the novella I read which are equally fantastic.
As for the Harry Potter series, I mentioned in my November TBR that I plan to read the fifth book in November. It’s borderline mind-blowing that I read the first four in two weeks considering how sick I was feeling, but I loved them and they’re ranked in a category all their own.
If you’re looking for Romcoms, The Love Hypothesis and People We Meet on Vacation are top-tier. Both will have you wanting more from the characters and wishing the book had never ended. In my case, it had me dreaming of a way I could read them for the first time again.
It Ends With Us is a romance leaning with a domestic abuse theme throughout it. It will make you cry without a doubt. My rating of three stars is more than certainly an unpopular opinion that I will dive into in another post, but overall I still enjoyed it!
I’m hoping I can finish more books this next season, but I still loved all these books for their individual reasons.
Keep an eye out for reviews coming soon!
